Conservation & Abrasive Cleaning.

Heritage Cleaning

Structures Group are experts in the cleaning of all types of building façade’s, features, and substrates. We undertake site surveys to ensure the correct cleaning methods are chosen, which could require an amalgamation of cleaning methods.

Our operatives understand the importance of sympathetic cleaning to heritage projects, including listed buildings and conservation areas, and use their knowledge and experience to provide the best solution possible. Heritage cleaning services may be as sympathetic as operatives delicately cleaning the substrate by hand using soft bristle brushes. However, Structures Group also offer other cleaning methods such as water jetting, microstrip blasting, TORC cleaning and DOFF cleaning, which can often be teamed with applications to soften the unwanted matter.

Our team of experts have vast experience in cleaning Grade I – Grade II* listed buildings such as cathedrals, churches, castles, estates, public buildings, and private properties.

Eco Steam Cleaning

Structures Group provide numerous sympathetic cleaning methods, however, the most common and one of the most effective is the steam cleaning system (DOFF Integra) by Stone Health. We have invested in numerous state-of-the-art cleaning systems, enabling us to clean to a very high standard.

Our restorative cleaning systems, such as the DOFF, offer a specialist cleaning method designed to have a gentle touch on the buildings substrate, whilst still being powerful enough to remove all types of dirt and surface debris. Its intelligent design works by firing high temperature steam at the subject surface, allowing efficient removal of all types of paint coatings and lichen growth. The low intensity/high impact nature of our cleaning systems make them ideal for restorative stone cleaning, terracotta, and other delicate building materials.

Abrasive (Vortex) Cleaning

Abrasive (vortex) cleaning is the operation of forcibly propelling a stream of abrasive material against a surface under high or low pressure using a vortex motion. Our TORC system offers a gentle means of abrasive cleaning by creating a pressurised vortex combination of air, water and granulate matter to powerfully remove all types of debris from surfaces, including carbon deposits, whilst simultaneously conserving water due to its low volume functionality.

Lead Paint Removal & Blast Cleaning

One of the most effective methods of surface preparation is the SAT Blast dustless system, which cleans all substrates including metal, masonry and timber whilst saturating the dust with clean water, resulting in a safer working environment. This system uses a clever and unique combination of compressed air, with or without water, and abrasive media.

We often use abrasive methods to clean steel, however, our highly trained operatives can use this system to clean timber and masonry without causing damage.

Often, when removing lead-based paint, the SAT Blast system finds itself the most suitable for the task due to the dustless approach, stopping the unwanted lead particles becoming airborne. Lead removal works are undertaken under the control of lead works regulations to ensure that best practice methods are used whilst keeping all personnel safe. This system can also be used to remove masonry paint, lime-wash, and carbon from almost any substrate.
