Chemical, abrasive and heritage cleaning

There are many different ways of cleaning buildings, and the method employed will depend upon many factors such as construction materials, the extent of deterioration, and the degree and nature of the soiling.

As Stone Health approved contractors, we only use the best TORC/DOFF cleaning systems to ensure work is carried out to the highest standards.

Restoring and cleaning buildings requires a specialist skill.  Our experience in restoration and cleaning enables us to offer advice and assistance throughout the entire project, taking the stress out of any cleaning project

At Structures Housing we always use bio degradable products, as preservation of the environment is just as key as restoring the buildings and use a wide range of cleaning methods, in order to apply extreme sensitivity where necessary.

Chemical Clean

Chemical cleaning is generally the most suitable approach for historic brickwork as it is able to accommodate variations in texture, condition and hardness, and it is undoubtedly the best method for the removal of paint.

Significant advance in chemical cleaners now mean that softer surfaces such as Sandstone/Portland stone can be cleaned using enzymes to digest the dirt, thus avoiding other cleaning systems which could damage the surfaces

Abrasive Clean

Abrasive Cleaning is the operation of forcibly propelling a stream of abrasive material against a surface under high or low pressure.

We use abrasive blasting to remove paint, lime-wash and carbon. This system can also be used to clean brickwork, steel railings or beams from internal or external walls. It is a popular procedure for exposing brickwork for internal feature walls.

Eco Steam Clean

We have invested in state-of-the-art TORC/DOFF cleaning systems so that we are able to clean to a very high standard, in a gentle way, and causing minimum distress to the stone.  The system can remove bacterial growth, lichen, moss and graffiti using low pressure and high temperature steam. The stone surface doesn’t get saturated with water and dries in minutes so the whole process is kind to stone with outstanding results.
